I am flattered to be elected chairman of the Teller
County Republicans and I hope to contribute to advancing the
conservative interests of the party.
As you know, Republicans are in an historic minority as
our country enters into the most serious economic crisis since the Great
Depression. We are living through the largest expansion of government
in our nation’s history as hosts of companies and special interests line
up for government handouts – handouts that will ultimately be paid for
by you, me and our kids. These days, my favorite quote is “This may not
be socialism, but you can see the Soviet Union from here.”
In these times, it is critical to defend basic
conservative principles of individual liberty and responsibility, free
enterprise and limited government interference in the natural operation
of markets. Please join me in defending these conservative principles
and restoring our party and country to its roots.
